Trusting God - When There's No Other Choice
61In our walk with Christ, we all encounter times when we are called
upon to "walk by faith and not by sight." I'm not referring to the
situations we might encounter on a regular or even daily basis.
I'm speaking of those situations when we are asked to walk where we
haven't been before. We are treading on new ground, at least what
we consider to be new ground in our walk with Christ. While these
situations may be similar to others we have faced, they require from
us a degree of trust we have never exercised before.
I personally find myself in such a situation. Without going into the
details, I am having to trust God for his provision in a way that is
new to me. The need is not new, but the degree of need is. In fact,
it is so great that I have no choice but to trust God to meet that
need. My ability to "make it happen" has literally been removed from
me. A whole series of occurrences surrounding my family and me have
left me looking to God only for this provision.
Another interesting aspect to this situation is that many people are
watching us. This present situation follows a long period of time of
abandonment, accusations, lies, distortions and hatred by personal
friends and family. As difficult as those situations have been to
handle properly, this is even harder because my immediate resources
to turn to are limited, at best. This forces me to....................
turn to God. I hate to put it that way, but that is the truth. I have
no choice but to look to God for this need.
Fortunately, I have seen God meet other needs for us in the past. So
trusting Him in this case, while not easy in any way, is nevertheless,
a step forward from an already solid platform. Peace only He can
provide is the precursor for the provision to come. Anticipation wells
up to see in what manner this provision will come. Patience causes us
to wait for the revelation of the next move. One step at a time.
Meanwhile, a thankful heart praises the God of our provision, even
before he exposes that provision. No one takes care of us like He does,
especially while in the fire.
